Most people seeking help for a relationship want to improve communication, increase intimacy, or address conflicts that damage the relationship.

In couples counseling I take an active role in identifying patterns that inhibit communication and connection.  Then guide the efforts to build healthy patterns; in communication, connection and needs fulfillment.  I also assist in talking about and taking action to increase trust and learning to tame reactivity and defensiveness.  The goal is to feel better in the short-term and be healthy in the long run.
